If your student plans to ride the bus this fall, here's what you need to know.

Durango School District is once again offering free summer meals to all children through the 2025 Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), with a new location for this year: Needham Elementary School.

On Tuesday, April 22, at 12:39 p.m., Durango School District sent out an emergency message to our entire school community about Boys and Girls Club closing that afternoon due to a power outage. If you did not receive the message, please complete the following steps to ensure you receive emergency messaging in future.

We are offering FREE live webinars on Monday-Thursday evenings throughout the school year, and you can always watch previously recorded classes on your own time by visiting the Cook Center's full content library. Live webinar topics in May include: how to motivate your child, mindfulness for improved mental health, suicide prevention, protecting your child on social media, emotional regulation, video game addiction, stopping bullying cycles, and more.

Join the Gifted Family Advisory Committee and guest presenter Andi McNair for a fun and informative Family Night focused on Family Passion Projects. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Impact Career Innovation Center (Durango High School, 2390 Main Ave.).

Due to the growing measles outbreaks in Texas and New Mexico and the high rate of tourism to our area, the Durango School District (DSD) Health Services Department is working to prepare and educate our students, families, and staff about measles and what to expect if there is a confirmed case in our schools.

We’re excited to offer a two-part workshop to help you learn strategies and expand your toolbox for supporting your child during the early childhood years.

If your child is entering kindergarten in the 2025-26 school year, be sure to register soon so you don't miss out on vital information over the summer. We also welcome you to participate in our Kindergarten Readiness Screenings this month, so you can learn more about your child's unique developmental strengths and areas for growth, plus how to set your child up for kindergarten success in the fall.

The public is invited to the 2025 Durango Education Foundation Spring Resource Fair. This free event will be held April 2, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
