Welcome to Third Grade!
Dear Parents in Room 105,
Welcome to the wonderful world of third grade! I am excited and enthusiastic about the school year that lies before us. Your child’s education has many facets, and the parent-teacher partnership is an important one. Together, we can make this year both a growing experience and a building block for the future of your child.
Below is information that will guide you through the school year.
Specials
The classes are on a rotating schedule. The order is: Art the first day, Music the next, and finally PE. Then, we start over: Art, Music, PE.
Science Lab
Science Lab will be every Friday from 8:15-9:15. We will also have lab every fourth Monday.
Library
Our library time will be every Wednesday from 1:20-1:35.
Friday Folders
Friday Folders are sent home each Friday. Please take time to review the included papers. This is an important process and a valuable connection between school and home. Please take out all papers and send back the folder each Monday.
Reading Homework
Our school adopted a no written homework policy. The most important thing your child can do is to read at least 20 minutes every day!
Snacks/Water Bottles
Please provide your child with two healthy snacks each day (no candy, potato chips, or cookies, please). If you feel you are unable to provide a snack, please come talk to me. Also, your child should bring a full water bottle to school in order to stay well hydrated.
Birthdays
Birthday treats are allowed on your child’s birthday during our afternoon recess (2:00-2:15). Please contact me in advance if you desire to bring something so that I may plan accordingly. Bringing extra napkins will also be helpful. Thanks! J
Open House
Our RVE Open House/Ice Cream Social is Thursday, September 12 from 5:00-6:15 P.M. I am looking forward to seeing some familiar faces and meeting new families.
