Riverview Family Newsletter - February 2022

of which you may get additional information from your student’s teacher. On a different note, we would like to thank our PTO for helping add a generous amount of gift cards to our Crew boxes for Riverview families that were given out for the holidays. Families were extremely appreciative!

Additionally, we have been having a lot of tardies in the mornings. Please help make sure that your student arrives on time. This ensures that they are able to start their day in Crew. As you know Crew helps our kids not only acclimate to the day but also encompasses a lot of team building and regulation time. THANK YOU for your help with this.

As always, thanks for your support and community that you and your family bring to our school. We appreciate you!

Report Cards: Report Cards are now available to view in Infinite Campus. HERE are some directions on how to access them. The report card will look different than past years. Here is a document that explains how to read the report card. The most important thing is that there is communication between student, teacher, and guardians.  If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher.

Here is a letter that was sent out with additional information.

Here is the Parent Guide for the new report card.

Social Emotional Learning with JoAnne and Lesley:

Thank you Riverview Community for your enthusiastic support of Social Emotional Learning at Riverview! Between the laser-like focus on our Habits of Learning in CREW, our weekly SEL lessons, Restorative Practices, and the important work done with students who need a bit of extra support, Riverview students are learning so many valuable skills and strategies for effectively navigating the everyday challenges of school and home. We appreciate your request for SEL resources to use at home to help reinforce the SEL skills we are teaching at school! Your participation in this educational partnership is key for nurturing the whole child and a priority for everyone here at Riverview.

Below is the SEL Resources Video Link to an online spreadsheet full of resources related to our SEL curriculum. JoAnne recorded a short video (found on the first page) to help you navigate this resource. Just click on the link to view. We hope you find this tool a useful one to add to your already overflowing parenting toolbox! ;-)

Thank you!

JoAnne and Lesley

COVID Update:

We just wanted to remind everyone of some of our COVID protocols we have in place as of now. As you all know things are ever changing with this virus so we appreciate your grace and patience. We have had some positive cases with low risk exposures in classrooms of which families have received notification. To emphasize, these are “low risk” exposures which do not warrant classes shifting to remote learning and/or quarantine. These guidelines are per San Juan Basin Health. We have also been able to do on-site testing when students and staff have shown any kind of symptom. This has helped not only identify a positive case but also help keep students and staff in classes when results are negative. This has been the case in the majority of our tests.

  • 3 W’s- We continue to practice hand Washing, Watching distances, and Wearing a mask. Please continue to reinforce these with your student.
