Each box will contain recipes and the ingredients to create a healthy and nutritious meal. In addition, PTO will be contributing gift cards to each box that will help cover additional food, utilities and other needs throughout the holidays. This is another example of how our annual Fun Run and other community contributions can help “pass it on” to our families and school community. Our hope is that every student here at Riverview will have an opportunity to help contribute to someone in our community and make a difference. We hope you all have a wonderful winter break and enjoy time with your family and friends.

Literacy Family Survey
The Riverview school community is working hard to promote a culture of reading in school and at home. Please take a couple minutes to fill out THIS SURVEY, so that we can better understand how to support you and your family.
Middle of the Year Data collection (MOY)
The weeks of December 6-17 is our testing window for Acadience and/or iReady literacy and math assessments. This set of data will help us see what kids know and can do as well helping to guide instruction in the general classroom as well as our intervention classes.
COVID Update:
We just wanted to remind everyone of some of our COVID protocols we have in place as of now. As you all know things are ever changing with this virus so we appreciate your grace and patience. We have had some positive cases with low risk exposures in classrooms of which families have received notification. To emphasize, these are “low risk” exposures which do not warrant classes shifting to remote learning and/or quarantine. These guidelines are per San Juan Basin Health. We have also been able to do on-site testing when students and staff have shown any kind of symptom. This has helped not only identify a positive case but also help keep students and staff in classes when results are negative. This has been the case in the majority of our tests.
- 3 W’s- We continue to practice hand Washing, Watching distances, and Wearing a mask. Please continue to reinforce these with your student.
Lost and Found Items: Thank you for reminding your child to pick up items from our lost and found. The number of items in our lost and found is quite astonishing. It is so helpful when you label your child’s jackets, coats, water bottles, etc. Then, we can help to get those items back to their owners.
Early Student Pick Up
We have had an influx of early dismissals and early pick-ups recently. Please try to minimize student pick-ups in the middle of the school day, as it is disruptive to their learning process and to the classroom. If you need to pick up your student early for an appointment, please email the teacher and call the office ahead of time. We will do our best to have your student ready in the office when you arrive. It is hard to accommodate “early pick-ups” or “change of plans” calls after 2:30 pm, however. Thank you!
