Welcome to Riverview Elementary. The Riverview Community takes great pride in the education, both academic and social-emotional, of our students. I am proud to be a part of such a strong educational community.
My professional experience in education extends way back to the mid 1990's. Early in my career, I spent several years as a counselor in Denver in the juvenile justice and residential treatment field. Afterwards, I taught middle and high school Language Arts and American History for 10 years in Steamboat, CO and Bend, OR. I also did a stint as a 1st grade teacher in Honduras. Before arriving at Riverview in 2010 as the principal, I spent twp years as a K-8 administrator in the Ashland, OR school district.
I am New Jersey born and Wisconsin raised, so you will hear regular references to the Green Bay Packers
if you hang around the halls of Riverview. As a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, you might even hear the Badger Fight Song
once in a while.
My family and I moved to Durango in 2010 to return to Colorado and be closer to family in Denver. My wife, Kelly, teaches 2nd grade and my kids, Zane and Harper, currently attend Riverview. I am a lucky dad to have my kids at my workplace everyday!
