September/October 2019 News from Mr. Geygan

And what about Lindsay Neiman, our new Assistant Principal?  She has jumped in with both feet and is proving to be a tremendous asset to the Riverview team of rockstar staff.  We've set ourselves up for a great school year.

We are all here to ensure the safety and growth of each individual child and we take that responsibility seriously.

Along those lines we have had several reports of mountain lion sightings in the area to the east and north between the school and Methodist Church and adjoining neighborhoods.  When that happens we clear the playgrounds, keep students inside and do a cautious sweep of school grounds.  If the danger seems high we will involve Division of Wildlife and law enforcement personnel.

Here's to another great year at Riverview Elementary School!

And, the October message from the Riverview Newsletter:
Every day brings a new adventure. There are challenges and successes and we learn from the kids as much as they learn from us. I'm fortunate to spend a portion of my days interacting with students and observing them interact with each other.  They are clever and creative and tenacious and funny.

As you know safety and learning go hand and hand, and I wanted to send out a few reminders about morning drop off and afternoon pick up in the parking lot and the pull through.  Keep in mind that we have more than 450 children converging on the school grounds  and exiting at roughly the same time. It can feel a little chaotic. So, to ensure efficiency and safety please slow down, stay off your phones, pull as far forward as you can in line and exercise patience.  We're all in this together.

As always, contact me with questions, concerns or positive observations any time.

Happy Fall
